Tommy was grumpy. He did not want to go to bed. He wanted to play with his cars and trucks. But Mommy said it was time to sleep. She gave him a hug and a kiss and tucked him in with his pillow.
"Good night, Tommy. I love you," Mommy said.

He closed his eyes and tried to sleep. But he was still grumpy. He wished he could play with his mail truck.
Then he heard a noise outside his window. He got up and looked out. He saw a bird flying away with his mail truck!
Tommy was very grumpy. He wanted his mail truck back. He ran outside and chased the bird. But the bird was too fast. Tommy was sad.
He went back to bed. But then he saw something in his pillow. It was a letter from his friend. He opened it and smiled.
"Happy birthday, Tommy! I miss you," the letter said.
Tommy was surprised. His friend had sent him a letter back! He was so happy. He forgot all about the mail truck. He went to sleep with a smile on his face.
