Tommy was grumpy. He did not want to go to bed. He wanted to play with his cars and trucks. But Mommy said it was time to sleep. She gave him a hug and a kiss and tucked him in with his pillow.
"Good night, Tommy. I love you," Mommy said.
"Good night, Mommy. I love you too," Tommy said. But he was still grumpy.

"Mommy, can I mail a letter to my friend?" Tommy asked.
Mommy smiled and said, "Yes, you can. Let's write a letter together."
So Tommy and Mommy wrote a letter to Tommy's friend. They put it in an envelope and put a stamp on it. Then they went to the mailbox and put the letter inside.
Tommy was no longer grumpy. He was happy. He knew his friend would get the letter soon.
